I have a kubota B2320, have many cedar stumps cut low to the ground, most cut 2 seasons ago, would a ratchet rake 48", on my loader pull those stumps up? They range from 3" to 6" maximum diameter.

Or just rent a stump grinder.

I doubt it unless you're in a swamp. I'd dig them out with a backhoe or excavator, or if you could get traction you could try pulling them out with a chain on a truck.

Never underestimate roots.

One inch Cedars, YES. Three to six inch Cedars, NO.

Rent the stump grinder.

my wife hit a four inch ceader with a 68 buick and pushed the motor back 3 feet, hitting the front seat.

Cedar trees have the most extensive and hardest to pull out root systems of any tree (maybe a thorn tree is comparable). You would need a backhoe to dig them out. Before I got my back hoe, I was using my LS P7010 with FEL to dig out a 8" diameter cedar. I had to dig a deep hole around it and use a chain to pull it out. It was all the 70 HP machine wanted to get it out and then had to pull some individual roots out. I wouldn't recommend tackling them with anything less than a back hoe. Never seen cedar grown in a swamp so I think you would be on a ridge and in hard ground so it isn't going to be easy.

Rent the grinder, I have a 72 inch RR on my 45 hp Mahindra. I cut an area full of saplings 3 seasons ago.The saplings were mostly gum, pine and a few oaks. I still can't push the gums around (3- 6 inch). (everything else is pretty easy) . This past winter - I just used the boot method to remove all the rest of the pines - one good kick- and they would go flying.
I know the cedar would be even more difficult than the gums. I got my stumps old staked out and ready
for my stump grinder guy.

Must be different than the cedars on my place. Up to 5" come out easily with the tree puller.

This one was harder!

A a ratchet rake is too wide. You need a narrow stump bucket.

Or something like this on the 3 point.

Agreed, the 4-5" cedar stumps around my place seem to pop up pretty easy after being cut at ground level, a 1" hole poked about 5" down in the centers, and left a while to die. First one I used the backhoe on, but it popped out so easy when repositioning the tractor I hit the others with the FEL edge and lifted as I moved forward popping them loose easily. A couple I had to take two stabs at to break them totally free, but it was the easiest method I found on mine considering I didn't need to change to the backhoe for each one, and the tractor didn't need turned around to have the FEL bucket near to roll them into (was a tight area so it was something to be considered).

OP: I also agree a rake isn't going to do it. A heavy duty box blade may.
