Will a X series deck fit a 400 series?

I was wondering if a "54" deck from the X series, will fit a 425? If so, is there any modifications needed for it to fit or are they not compatable? Take Care Jason B

I am assuming you have a 54" mower deck. The 54 and the 54C decks are similar, but the gearbox is in a different position. I have not physically attempted to put a 54 deck under an X series or vice versa, but I do not believe it will work without modifications.

Apparently, the mount is completely different. I have a chart for accessories covering all of the 400 and X series through 2004. It shows products originally sold for each model and which newer attachments will fit older machines. It shows no crossover in the mowing decks between the X series and the 400 series. The decks for the X series all carry a "C" after the width (54C for example).

Yes, i think it would take quite a bit of a mod to get it to work.
