I have been given a large cylinder and want to use it on a splitter attached to a skid steer given these specs do yall think it will work ?

36 "long (closed)
2 " dia. shaft
24" circumference case

Plan to power it from the 50 hp skid steer using using aux control already in place.

Also, there is an fitting on each end and a smaller one on the back end. Any idea what this one is for ?

Thanks from redneck who knows little about hydraulics.

If the seals are good, it should work.

Are you sure about the circumference?

What is the diameter of the cyl?

Show some pictures with ruler.

3rd smaller port could be a pilot line line for a built in load holding valve. Some cylinders have this when used where load holding is a safety concern and there can be no plumbing between the load hold valve and the cylinder.

24" circumference = 7.64 " diameter so would estimate around 7" bore cylinder
