I just ordered parts from the Case/IH dealer for my '41 Farmall. She's 63 years old. How about that!

My Kubota has a production date of '87. When this B8200HST is 63, around 2050, will I still be able to get parts from Kubota?

I sure hope so, but when your Kubota is 61 years old, you are going to be 104 yourself. I doubt that you will care much about using the Kubota. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You never know /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Average life expectancy just keeps on stretching. I hope you old guys /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif are all still around to answer my questions in 2050.

How true. In a long term nursing facility down the road 140 of the residents are over the age of 100. Fact. And yes a few could still drive a tractor. (but not mine) /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

(A few are 103, but thats the oldest.)

I keep thinking about that many people over a hundred and it amazes me. I guess I didn't know it was so common

Reminds me about that song saying, "If I knew I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself"

So your 'Bota is 17 years old and you're planning a bit ahead to when she's 63. Your '41 Farmall was 17 years old in 1958.

If anyone asked their IH dealer in 1958 about about future parts availability in 2004, they probably would have got a strange look, don't you think?

Actually, I have my doubts about parts for an '87 Kub in year 2050. By the 1940's, IH was producing hundreds of thousands of units, which created the base that makes it economically profitable to serve the parts market for so long. I don't think Kubota sold that many units so the demand may run out much sooner.

Thanks for an interesting question!

Probably not. Sure, certain types of generic stuff but I doubt you can find model specific parts in quanity to preform a restoration etc. The world is supposed to end in 2012 anyways so who cares /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif. J

In 45 years there is serious doubt that I will be fixing anything.
