Re: Will you Yellow bottoms ever exceed NH\'s posts for

So is the picture of a Waterloo or the preWaterloo John Deere AWD?

Re: Will you Yellow bottoms ever exceed NH\'s posts for

After reading the associated article, I believe the picture is a DAIN shortly after Dain was purchased by Deere. Making it technically a Deere. Waterloo was apparently something that came a little later on and was more economical.

Re: Will you Yellow bottoms ever exceed NH\'s posts for

The first Deere production tractor was called the Dain All-Wheel drive, produced 12 hp at the drawbar and 24 hp on the belt pulley. Manufactured 1918-1919, weight 4600 lbs, MSRP $1650. It was considered one of the best tractors one could own but Deere wanted something less expensive that would enable them to compete with the Fordson. In 1918 Waterloo Boy had two models, hp was comparable to the Dain but they sold for $985 and $1150.

So, right from the start they had a model pushing the technology envelope, and an economy machine.

Yellowsocks liked the Waterloo a lot better. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif The AWD tore up his grass, and its dash kept fogging.

All that's needed here is another ePowrReverser vs eHydro thread - Oops, maybe that's going a bit far just to one-up the NH gang LOL !

Bob, a fellow I work with has at least 2 Olivers maybe more in his stable of farm tractors - I'll have to ask him what models.

You know. an eReverser/eHydro war won't go anywhere. They are both awesome and have their place. Seems like the big gear wars are over the old style gear trannies (that Deere has dropped!) Anyway, I don't blame Anyone for going with Deere's reverser, and I aint givin' up my eHydro for anything!

Re: Will you Yellow bottoms ever exceed NH\'s posts for

But Mike, it's been pretty dead around here for quite some time. I can get up, have my cup of coffee and be done scanning the few topics I visit anymore and leave. I'd like to see some fire. You know, like why are Deeres seats YELLOW. Are you a bunch of chickens. Did Deere get a fancey decorator from San Francisco to come up with that scheme? Whats next, FAUX paint on the fenders? What holiday can you say your tractor resembles, April Fools Day? My Kubota is all set for Halloween. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

St. Paddy's Day!!

Yellow seats are cooler in the Sun! 'Sides, we do MUCH more daring things wid ours, so that color is sorta Camo /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I hate to break it to you, but on the main page do you see that little yellow "minus" to the left of the Kub, NH, and other forums? - Mine's a "plus"...

OK, wanna stir somethin up, why do Kub Loader dscv s look like they were plumbed as an afterthought? Why don't they mount the stick on the tbottem side of the the ROPs top?

Re: Will you Yellow bottoms ever exceed NH\'s posts for

I guess it's dead around here because everyone is out using their tractors, and at least around here it is just too darn nice to be inside typing. Come on guys - get out there and break those machines so we can have more to talk about... those dam Deere's are just all working to well. I want to see wheels falling off, hydro leaking, and engine problems galore! Then we'll finally exceed the NH section... or we can just enjoy our generally dependable Green and Yellow tractors and continue to languish at the bottom of the post heap. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
