I have decided I need a winch for pulling branches, tree tops, old posts/fencing , tires out of my ponds.

Does anyone use a winch on their 425? What kind/size?

Where and how did you attach it.

I have used a small electric winch for getting unstuck. I put if through the pin on the rear of the PT. It is one that is designed to go over a hitch ball. I ran wires to the battery and lay the connector inside. I got if from Northern. It is only rated at 2000 pounds, and it's kind of wimpy. One of the concerns you should have on buying an electric whinch is that they may recommend a more powerful electrical system than the PT has. The one I have recommends a 55 amp alternator. The PT is 15. Also the battery on the PT is small.

I also have a hand power boat whinch which is what I actually use most of the time. It is rated at 4000 pounds and is easy to install. I welded a 2 inch square tube in it to go into my 2 inch receiver. A picture is attached. It is slow to whinch something with this.
