winch mount

Have any of you fellows ever mounted an electric winch on a Jinma? I have a Farm Pro 2425 and am thinking about hooking up an 8000lb rated electric winch but am at a lose as how to go about it. On the 3 point hitch or on the front? Any suggestions?

Ag tractors aren't "supposed" to get stuck - very often anyway. So what is your motivation for mounting a winch? Is it because of turf tires? And where is your battery located in relation to the front weights?

The winch would be used to drag logs out of places I couldn't get to . My place is in the mountains and a lot of times you can't back up to a log you would like to pull out.

Well, I hope they're not big logs - or you won't be able to winch them from a 3000 pound stationary tractor. Otherwise the tractor will have to be moving forward while the winch is reeling in. You're adding the 2425's seven thousand pounds of tractive force as a (moving) anchor for the 8000# winch.

I say forward, because the R1 tires are directional. That means the winch would have to be on the rear. If you front mounted it, you'd have to reverse the tires so the lugs are facing the other direction. Then you'd have to change them back to use the tractor for conventional ag work.

Hope that wasn't too confusing. But if they're "little logs" maybe I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill

If you do a search under " build it your self'" you will find some Pic's of a hyd 10,500 that I put on a Bota, 3PH. If you put a blade on the frame work and drop it down when you start to winch the blade will keep the tractor from being pulled.
