two off to the left of the tractor vehicle (ztr or power trac). when i am using the 7 foot woods finish mower behind the kubota l2025 i have them attached to either side of the woods mower at different distances. another combination is the woods rough cut mower and a kunz acrease rough cut mower attached off to the left.
side to side mowing is my preferred way to do hills with less than 20%. with two acrease off to the left and the pt being the lowest machine. yes, in this passage on the side of the hill they start to bunch up. SINGLE machines (tractor, ztr, walk behind) should only be used on hills.
to your clipping question, we mow every week and in spring fert. lawns on a five day rotation. in our area we never go below 3 inches and cut no more than a 1/2 inch at the time so clippings are not a problem.
