Due to a family illness I have had to construct a wheelchair ramp in the garage stall where I used to house my 4310. It is now parked outside. I would like to cover it to keep the snow off it, etc. Because the wheelchair ramp is not permanent, I don't want to spend a lot of money on a solution. Can anyone recommend a cover that will handle the machine, FEL and BH, or perhaps a portable enclosure. Advice will be much appreciated.

I recently got my Northern Tool holiday sale catalog, they have a couple of different of "Garage-in-box" setups that may be ideal for you. Here's a link to one in their catalog, click here

gladen,

An 'instant garage", "portable garage", "garage in a box"... may be a good solution. Lots of folks are happy with them and I seriously need one. However, for a tractor, note the "door height". Most all of the companies selling these have door heigths too low for the ROPS, until you get to the "Boat/SUV" size that has a full 8' door clearance. That is, if the 4310 needs, or will fit 8' without dropping the ROPS. Once you get to the 8' height, you'll be looking at $700 +. Some will advertise lower prices but, anchors, zippered end doors, door roll-up kits, etc... are all "extras", but necessary if it's not going to blow away and you want to get in and out. JMHO

You might consider not covering the tractor at all, especially if you're talking about a temporary situation. My 4310 sat out all last winter. It took a little time to brush snow off the operator's area, but the tractor didn't seem to mind being outside at all.

Having said that, I have to admit that I'm in the process of building a small barn to keep the tractor in this winter. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Sure hope I get it done before we get serious snow.

My tractor stays outside winters in NE what I have is a silver tarp held down with bungees it's large enough to cover but doesn't go to the ground, I have about two feet of open air all around the bottom. no problems, no dampness so far. Easy on Easy off
