Winter p/u weight

   / Winter p/u weight #21
A couple of winters ago, I had left over bricks from construction, so I covered my entire bed with a single layer of bricks. It didn't restrict the functionality of the bed bed too much, but it sure did add plenty of weight.

Thats why the wife has a new Suburban
The auto-trac is one of the BEST things
for women (I know i'll hear about this).
Hit the auto button and drive because
snow, ice, wet pavement, or dry pavement
won't hurt anything and the 4 wheel
anti-lock brakes help her stop.

I even add an addition to that. The AutoTrac is even a good thing for a man. We had about 7" this past week and I had my Silverado in AutoTrac. Saw several F350 and some of the prior Chevrolets that didn't have it just spinning their rear tires when they would try to leave a light - why they didn't just stick it in 4wd I don't know. Maybe wanted to be macho and say that they didn't even have it in 4wd. I didn't have a problem one leaving any lights - didn't spin a tire one. I have a 54 mile one way commute and can have various road conditions and I love the fact that I don't have to always be fumbling for the 4wd lever or button. Like you said set it and go. But unlike some of the AWD SUV I still have a true 4WD High and Low Range - or at least as real as a stock pickup gets.

The auto 4WD saved my rear last winter. Hit black ice at about 50mph on a curve. The resulting skid was uncontolled by braking but with a slight steering correction and a little accelleration it pulled back straight. Still have the imprints of my passenger's fingers in my dashboard though /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

On the first 99 Silverado the family and I
went to Kentucky for Xmas, they had some
snow and ice on roads.
The wife kept YELLING at me to stop
hitting the brakes then hitting the gas, just
had to see how everything worked and
handled.
Like y'all said it is a great feature.
