In "Smoky and the Bandit" with Burt Reynolds there is a chase scene where the Bandit is crossing from the swamps of Louisiana into the deserts of Texas. Actully, the first thing you see crossing into Texas is the Sabine River and a huge river bottom of cypress trees. Then you see trees and rice/soybean fields for almost a hundred miles until you get to Houston. After that you see rolling landscape with mixed pastureland and woodlands. No deserts for hundreds of miles! Like Bird said, a lot of what you see has probably been filmed in other states.
