On that size winch I would definitely go to the larger size. That way you can also make up a set of booster cables that fit the plug.
I have one setup where I've mounted a second battery near the winch (8000lb)and use the 7pin plug to keep the battery charged.

Not really, I take it very slow when using the arch so it's not bad, for the most part I'm driving up a paved road which of course is very smooth. Those muffler clamps are the perfect size for cup holders! :thumbsup:

That's a good idea about the jumper cables, I might order some new connectors for that bigger size up. Do I need any kind of inline fuse or something to that effect? I wouldn't think so but I don't know much about electricity

By using one on the tractor and one on the truck you can jump either by just plugging in.
If it was me I would play it safe and go with the higher amperage rated connectors.
I use the 350 amp connector for all battery connections as with the winch or jumping a vehicle.

you can also make up a set of booster cables that fit the plug.

The booster cables I use have that type of connectors in-line on both ends.
The ends are adaptable for either use, Clamps or Plug-ins.
Also, I got an extension cable that plugs in just in case I can not get close enough with the shorter cables.
