Wix filters

SuperTech filters are made by Champion Laboratories who make Mobil One and Bosch filters and also some automaker brands. While they may not have the advanced filter media of the highest efficiency and highest priced filters, they are considered premium filters and will peform well.

A legitimate concern we all should have are the performance specifications. Some Car manufacturers apparently do not tell companies like WIX or Purolator their filter specs. So, these companies buy examples of the filter in question, have it tested in a laboratory, then build replacement filters to the same physical dimensions and performance. That includes filtration efficiency and filter bypass valve pressure. Thus, there is no reason to believe the replacement filters are in any way different from the OEM filters.

So in my $.02 's worth, buying the name brand manufacturer filters that have the same name as your equipment in most cases is probably just throwing good money out the window. In my case, buying a Branson tractor or Kukje oil filter for $12 bucks, or a Supertech at Walmart that looks identical, and apparently performs equal to the task is a no brainer.

However , back to the gentleman's original post. I believe that even buying Wix is better than buying a name brand filter for 3 or 4 times the cost. So if you want that Kubota filter, John Deere, Massey, Branson, or ??, then that is your informed choice.

so... can anyone compile a list of "other" brand filter #'s and what Kubota part #'s they replace?

The Wix site, and the Hastings site, both allow you find their filters for your Kubota, if you wish.

From there, a simple cross reference to Fram or whatever.

Cross referencing filters is pretty easy, once you have one number. Don't think anyone is going to "compile a list", unless they have been abandoned on a desert island with absolutely nothing else to do.:laughing:

Wix and NAPA are good quality filters but make sure that your warranty has expired to ensure that there will be no problems with a warranty claim.

You are not saying that you are required to use a particular filter to satisfy warranty coverage, are you?

As has been stated over and over, should, in the unlikely event, an oil filter collapses, the tractor warranty will not likely kick in, but they will point you to the filter maker for financial relief.

If that filter is an OEM filter, then, in the unlikely event that filter collapses, it is a "one stop shop" warranty claim. That's all.

have used wix in everything, in fact search them out-get them for my classic corvette from NAPA-I personally will not use Fram, also use them in both my Kubota and John Deere

Yes, some filter companies make several different brands. They also make them to that particular manufacturer's specs. Just because company "A" makes totally junk Fram filters doesn't necessarily mean they can't make a quality filter. Fram simply wants the cheapest thing that will screw onto an engine.
