Greetings all

Its middle of summer down here and time to change the oil on the BX2360.

The local dealer no longer sells Kubota but has been able to supply genuine Kubota filters till now. I ordered Kubota engine oil filters but but upon pickup was given Wix 51358 as equivalent fitment. Checked the WIX website and find that filter 51358 is for a BX2230 with engine D902E2BX2 ... my BX2360 needs filter 51365, but the Wix website says that the BX2360 uses the same engine (D902E2BX2).
The Wix filter fits fine and does not leak. I'm inclined to use the tractor but thought I would run this past the forum first.

thanks.

I tried to get a wix hydraulic filter, its cross matched fine in books, on the web, so orilellys ordered me one. All info stated same exact specs as akubota one, anyway it came in next day, all numbers matched, but the filter was significantly smaller so I took it back and got a kubota filter. Maybe I just have bad luck.

I went through a spell last year thinking I could save some money with napa filters (made by wix) on my kubota equipment. What I learned was to just stick with kubota filters if at all possible. Its worth it. Here is my experience.

kubota b7800 tractor, bought wix/napa filters on sale. Saved 2 more then $200 on year supply for all my kubota equipment. Any way I changed out the hst and hydraulic filters to napa/wix. When I started the tractor, the hyd pump made a whine noise, like a dry u buzzing. After tractor warmed up, buzzing stopped and tractor seemed fine. All crossreferences were correct. Kept making noise each start until warmed up. I tried another napa/wix hyd filter, still the same. Put kubota filters back on and WOW, what a different tractor. No noise and it ran so much smooth er. So no more aftermarket filters for me.

As for an engine filter, you might be ok, but I personally go with kubota. Kubotas seem fussy for some reason as I know folks who run all napa/wix filters and never have an issue on a non kubota tractor.

And I agree about the fuel filters, especially for the bx series. They are just fine mesh strainers and dont stop water like the kubota inline fuel filters do. For me it is kubota filters if at all possible.

Messick's (a sponser on TBN) has all the Kubota filters you might need. Their prices are decent but shipping is a killer. I order several filters and back-ups for stock to at least minimize the cost per filter.

What is nice is that they group all the filters and some parts by tractor model so everything you need is on one page.

Look on top of this forum page and Messick's has a sticky you can click on.

Think perhaps shipping to OZ might be expensive..I would personally use only K filters and nor risk others ...filters are cheap compared to engine rebuilds or transmission failures. I know OZ is a big place and the next K dealer could be hundreds of miles away but There must be a dealer or distributor that can ship to you.....Have great day...Mate!

I get a kick out of guys trying to save a few bucks on a twenty thousand motor. A friend of mine is always bragging about how much he saved on a very low end filter and oil on his Grand L Kubota. Then he was whining when he blew the engine after he broke the oil filter brush hogging and all the oil leaked out and he didn't get it shut down in time. I told him " on the bright side at least you saved a few bucks on the filter!"
Kubota ended up taking care of him even out of warranty and with a brand x filter !

Get the 1 inch longer WIX 51356 that is listed for a ton of industrial uses. My RTV900 and X744 both would use the short 51365 but have no problem with the longer filter. You can even get the HD version XP filter in either filter. That gets you the mesh reinforced filter media.

On my M6800 and M9000 I must have been lucky as the Wix, Fram and Napa filters for oil and fuel have worked good so far and both have 1400+ hours on them.
