Wouldn't be obvious to me (how she fell under the rear tire) unless I knew which tractor brand, year, and model tractor was used. Among many bits of real information, would make a big difference if it had fenders or didn't. Would make a difference if she didn't have a hip bone failure that caused her to 'fall' like many women have happen. Lots of things need to be known to draw conclusions on this one.

Put a lot of snow, real cold weather, a staw filled sleigh pulled by horses, a brick foot heater and I surely could be one of the little gafers in the photo. Maybe throw in a horse blanket or two.

You're right there! I hadn't considered that the machine may have lacked fenders, or that any number of things could have propelled her foreward. Rolling over the top of the wheel first would have drawn out the time required for the event to occur, making her accident that much more horrifying. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Yep.. many early JD tractors didn't have fenders as standard eqipment.. like my 'B'

Here's a link to the Kansas Highway Patrol accident log on the incident. Doesn't specifically say what model tractor, but was a 1969 IHC.

Happened about 15 miles from my place, but I don't know the parties involved.
