We have had a very mild winter this year.
The warmest I can remember in NC.
Until the last couple of days.
The temp outside of the house this morning was 20. When I got down to the gate it was 14.
I have kept the wood stove going 24 hours for the last few days. The stove was barely able to keep the house at 78 last evening. When I got up this morning, the stove needed wood and the house was at 73. Really cannot complain when it is, at best, 20 degrees outside.
Very glad I use 0Wx40 oil in the truck.
I got to work and was talking with a coworker. The obvious topic of conversation was the COLD. He told me that LAST month he paid $600 for propane!
:confused2: Last month was MILD! I would hate to have to pay THIS months propane bill!
I have heard people using propane saying they spend $300-$600 a month which is just unreal to me. Then they have their power bill!
The coworker wants to put in a heat pump because the LPG prices are so high. I told him to get a wood stove. Even if he had to buy wood at $200 a cord that would be a huge saving compared to propane.
