In my case, it's more a hobby and interest, than thinking I need all this stuff. Maybe different with my wing mower that is rated at something like 80 acres a day. I love grass, lots of it, but would not have any interest in cutting it slowly.
When you can have stuff in your hobby that are tools and you can use, smiling while you do a job very effectively, I think that's a win/win and beats some vintage car in the driveway or a boat you use once a year. Besides, my experience has shown that I can sell my "junk" for more than I paid for it. So basically a hobby that doesn't cost you any money and gives you a lot of neat toys to play with, and even on occassion make money with!
