Wood chipper versus brush chipper recommendations

I lucked up on this Vermeer about 15 years ago, it belonged to a local college that bought it to clean up after ice storms. All their help was terrified of it and no one wanted to use it. It was traded in to the dealer
I worked at with 235 hours on it! My dealership didn't want it on the yard either so I told them I'd give what was allowed on it in the trade. So........ I ended up with this for $2,600! It has been handy to have around, it will take up to 5.5" limbs no problem, 6" if you slow the feed down. I can do big chips and get rid of stuff fast or really slow it down and make sawdust out of it. Has no problem with bushes, leaf filled limbs don't bother it either. Kinda nice to be able to tow it places when needed too.

My Bear Cat will chip 5" but I never do. More importantly, it will shred 1.5".

Woods sells the same unit was the Woods 5000. I've had one for several years...probably close to 10 years. For typical yard/residential or small farm clean up, can't beat these model (Woods or Bearcat).
You'll want about 20 PTO HP minimum...30 PTO HP is the sweet spot.

BTW, bigtiller didn't mention it, but he's modified his to be quick hitch compatible...
