Wood foundations

I've seen below grade rated SIP walls using PT plywood and 2x stock where you're supposed to put a bituminous membrane on it before backfilling to help the wood last longer. Good luck - I'll be interested to see where this goes for you!

My BIL had a WICKS house with a wood foundation it was like 10 years old when he bought it and lived it it about 5 years with out any problems The wood looked like it was creosotes (dark brown) as oppose to the cca green that we were use to. It did have some really good drainage system and wood was set on gravel.
