We have stored firewood in the basement for 30plus yrs but as most of you have said bugs can be a problem so we only bring in enough to last for a week and the bugs are not an issue. Also it gives any moisture from snow a chance to dry out. Wood burning is cheap fuel but a lot of work but also great heat ,nothing like it.
