Woodburner roof stain

Hard to see any stain in the "now" picture, but in the "as you bought it" picture it looks like a rust stain. Going back to the "now" picture it looks like the flashing might be steel and rusting, except for a bright piece that may have been replaced.

sure a possibility there isn't very much yet on the new roof and I would like to keep it that way!

Look at all the mortar and how it is stained orange. Just like the roof stain. My guess is those funky orange bricks are leeching out. Not many folks intentionally stain their mortar.
