I Ebay has had issues with crooks with tractors. Do not buy unless you can put your hand on the tractor and deal direct. Same for used tractor with individual. Too many are stolen and turned real quick. Especially this time of the year.

I think you have eBay and Craig's List confused. EBay is a multi-billion dollar, publicly owned company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Most of the firms and individuals listed in the LINK have hundreds of prior eBay transactions and have been rated by their customers after every sale. For Sellers, eBay offers assured payment. For Buyers, a substantial satisfaction guarantee directly from eBay, not the seller, variable by price of item sold. Sellers pay fees to eBay, generally competitive with traditional auctions, if and when listed items are sold.

Most tractors listed on eBay are available for inspection during the period of the auction.

This is in sharp contrast to Craig's List, where potential buyers cannot access a transaction history of the seller.

You must have FIRST HAND experience and your facts straight before impugning the reputation of firms in public forums, like T-B-N. EBay's most valuable asset is its reputation.

I did not say nor imply ebay itself is crooked nor all the sellers nor buyers there are or any buyer or seller. I have been buyer there many times with only good results. Two purchases this month alone. All I said was to "look outside of ebay". No, I did not use the word "also" but was what I meant. Do know the size or age of a company does not tell you how it conducts business, how about VW and their diesels? I never use just one site when searching for any equipment. I will often use ebay along with many others.

If you were not aware of there having been scams on ebay do a quick search for search for them, they are there. I was only trying to point out do more than ebay and be sure you can see the tractor before you buy. This is true regardless of where you buy it form.

Sorry for any confusion. I was not trying to hurt ebay in any manner just words of caution on what has been an issue.

Yes Craig's list certainly has it's issues even with robbery and death related to some of their ads. Per the news in my area.
