I have the one that came with my 1920. I could give you those dimensions if you want.
let me know
could you give me the dimensions of the block? I just spent all day getting my 1920 clutch unfrozen. Thanks

A piece of 2 x 4 about 4" long will do the job.
When I store any 3 of my clutch type tractors for more than a week I keep the clutch blocked.
I always store inside!

Daily or near daily use will typically prevent you ever having this issue. Unfortunately storing indoors has no effect unless it is in a temperature regulated environment. The cause is more related to temperature change which most tractors experience and surface rust at the edges of the groves and outside and inside edges of the clutch disc and the flywheel.
The purpose of the block of wood is to keep the clutch disc and flywheel from contacting eliminating the possibility of a ‘freezing’ together of these surfaces. The purpose of the string is to prevent lose of the wood block, if like most of us you forget to remove it prior to operating your tractor.

My block is one of the few things I never forget .... because about three different times it was stuck so bad I thought I was going to have to split the tractor.

Right now I am in the process of replacing the clutch on my 1715 and I noticed that NH has superseded the clutch disk part number several times .... the current part has a pretty interesting pattern on the clutch disk ...wonder if they tried to address the sticking issue over the years.

My comment in regards to forgetting about the block was more related to the purpose of the ‘string’. What I have forgotten and what I was addressing was getting on the tractor prior to removing the block, ten pressing down the clutch pedal. If no string your block just fell on the ground. If you do not always park your tractor in the same spot, you get to hunt your block. Then when you find your block, you have often drove over it and now your block is no longer 1 block but pieces. (Ask how I know!). Some type of string just became a huge benefit, your block stays with the tractor, and remains in 1 piece!

I have to try a string ... my usual method is to get on the tractor, reach down and remove my 12" long piece of 2x4 that sticks out past the foot rest, hurt my back while bending that low from the seat while pushing the clutch pedal, then drop the wood, get off the tractor pick it up, get back on the tractor, leave the wood on the floor board, it later falls off somewhere during my travels ... etc. So yes, a string would probably be better than my "system" :)

I'd do what kuboto does on their DT tractors, put a spring loaded pin on clutch petal.
