Woodmaxx Snowblower Shear Bolts?

Here is another one with a big tractor, the blower is on more of an angle and the top link is extended as to lift the blower from the bottom hence straightening the shaft angle.

I really hate it when these people(meaning a reseller of some implements) tell a buyer that the problems are ones "you created" when they have no idea what they are talking about or doing when selling implements to a consumer/end user..

In all fairness to Woodmaxx, they haven't gone there yet. I am still in discussions with them and they are being reasonable in trying to figure out what is going on. I made the "Bozo" remark as a joke.

That mule has extendable lower links too which makes the attachment of the snow caster easier and also reducing the angle of the PTO shaft from the PTO stub to the snow caster gearbox.

I see that but wouldn't the top link being extended help the angle on the OP's setup?

The angle looks similar to mine. And what did you do to yours? (Not sure I understand)

The addition of a quick hitch reduces the angle the propeller shaft must take to reach the gearbox stub as the propeller shaft has become longer and the angle needed to reach the gearbox stub is lessened.

The quick hitch will help you use this snow caster but you may need a longer propeller shaft to do it IF and only if you had to cut the propeller shaft you bought for it.

Are you able to extend the lower links on this mule or are they a one piece lower link???

If they are not extendable you will need a quick hitch of some brand type to reduce the angle of attack needed for the propeller shaft to work and transmit power to the gearbox.

A quick hitch will be much less expensive than four smaller tires and wheels so the mules centerline will be lower to the ground to use this snow caster on your specific mule.

I didn't cut the shaft and the arms are fixed at roughly 32 inches long. The output shaft of the tractor is 24 inches off the ground.

I just looked at the manual for that blower and it does show a similar driveline angle to yours so maybe it won't be a problem, but if it were me I would extend the top link to level it a bit.

It would increase the negative angle of the top link attachment and ad very little to the extension of the propeller shaft total length.

The top link only controls the top angle of the integral hitch rotating it inward would increase the suck of a moldboard plow at the toe when it is lowered to the float position or rotating it outward would reduce the angle of suck at the moldboard plows toe if there is no tire to support the plow in the dead furrow edge.

Adjusting the top link of a properly mounted snow caster inward increases the height of the scraper from the zero angle in the X plane which is the flat driveway in relation to the ground.
Lowering it by threading it outward increases the potential suck of the cutting edge if it is left in float if their is no side adjust wear edge/foot to regulate the height of the snow caster above the ground level.

One of the many posts about PTO propeller shafts has a diagram of the tractor with a PTO shaft and implement showing the correct angles of power transmission to the implement that has been posted on the forum many times over the years.
