Woodpecker Likes My Building

The acorn woodpeckers were doing a number on one corner of my feed shed. I simply hung some bird netting there - problem solved.

Woodpeckers are pretty cool. They can be your free warning system to wood problems, be it rotted infested wood on a structure or a tree that's on decline, and may fall in storm. Use their warning to fix your bad wood.

I've seen a hairy woodpecker banging away at a transformer hanging from a pole on the road. I've always enjoyed the sound of a woodpecker! You can tell them apart by the drumming. Each species has their distinctive sound.
