Woods 84" Finish Mower Catastrophic Fluid Leak

Find yourself a socket about the same size as the outer race of the bearing to tap the new bearing into the gear box housing. Heat is your friend. If you need a little extra clearance, heat the gearbox housing with a propane torch prior to installing the new bearing. Do the same when installing the new lower seal.

That's how I've replaced bearing in hubs before. I would guess it'd be similar for the gearbox.

Might as well replace all four bearings while you're in there. The colour of the oil gives a clue as to the potential for catastrophic failure being imminent as you found out.

There may be/have been shims to adjust/set the backlash in the gears. Check that these survived the incident and use shim-stock if necessary to make new ones as required.

Try washing the belt in solvent to clean off the oil. That may save you buying a new one. Wash all pulley sheaves etc. as well obviously.

Your PTO shaft should have a proper stationary cover to be safe.
