I just purchased a used woods 9000 backhoe to mount on my Kubota L3130. I am planning on sending the tractor and hoe out to my local dealer to have a sub frame for a 4 point hitch put on. The dealer quoted me 950.00 plus labor for the works. Does anyone know if this is a decent deal? I am an auto mechanic, is this worth trying myself? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Mark,
Check with Woods … if they have the sub-frame, buy it direct, you should be able to bolt it up... and you will become more familiar with your machine in the process. KennyV.

I agree with Mark. I installed my sub frame and put together the woods 9000 BH. It does take some time, but you will know your machince better. I took me most of the day but I had a injured right shoulder to. It does come with some fairly good instructions.

I agree with the others. Woods should have a subframe in mind for that model tractor already, if it was designed for that model. That's a lot of hoe, are you sure it will safely go on the 3130? I'm just not that familiar with what your tractor can handle. John

Woods has a subframe for the L3130, I got the very first one,had to wait for them to make it. This was two years ago when the tractor just came out.

I know there is a subframe available. I checked with my dealer and I saw the 9000 installed on a l3130 when I bought mine. I will contact woods directly as others have suggested. I appreciate all the information.

I don't think Woods sells retail, but I may be wrong. They have an extensive dealer network though, so it shouldn't be hard to find. Contact my dealer if you can't find anyone close, and he can ship to you, or maybe have it shipped directly from Woods to you.

Mark,

Any Woods dealer can give you a price on the subframe. Remember that the $950 includes a fair bit of hydraulic fluid as well. Off the top of my head that sounds about right...parts/labor/fluid....Does the $950 include pick-up and delivery? Do you have a way to move the beast once the BH is installed?

I've been told that it's not too difficult to install the woods subframe. Check a recent post of mine. The subject is "Backhoe Installation" I posted it on 01/21/05. Here a link, but not sure it will work.
