...it would behoove any of you to get some trade-numbers...

...seat...doesn't shut off unless I am mowing with the PTO on, and I get up.)</font>

If you go back and check the threads you'll find several TBY'ers who state that they've been quoted a specific formula with the hours multiplied by 10. I haven't, but there are people on the threads who say they have.

The primary denotation of 'behoove' implies a "necessary responsibility". That seems a little strong.

IF the bh works well (and that is still an unknown), the numbers look in Woods favor to me, resale or not. We are fortunate to live in a country where we can each decide for ourselves what to buy.

It just doesn't sit well with me that some engineer or liability lawyer wants my tractor to turn off on its own. If I want to get out of the seat and move the hose without shutting down or disengaging, I think I should be able to. I'd rather have the 2200 than a 23 with this built in safety cop. There's too much political correctness & government interference already. I want a plain old tractor that just does what I want it to without all these ridiculous hidden switches. I know Kubota doesn't want to get sued, but this business is getting out of hand.

Thank you Junkman for pointing out that the Woods bucket is 16" wide. That's helpful to know. You are right that a wider bucket makes the force less concentrated, so I have to wonder whether it will dig in my hard clay. The kind of feedback I'm interested in is to hear somebody say that their Woods bh did or didn't dig successfully in hard soil.

O.K. what brave soul will get the award for the first purchase? We're all waiting to hear from you. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Instead of writing off the trade in scenario as you suggest, gettting a trade figure may actually suprise you. Strong wording??? Come-on.....trying to save fellow TBN'ers money? As far as the seat goes on the BX23.....So far in 24 hours of use I have never noticed the switch once, nor do I care.....I think the switch that deactivates the PTO is a total non-issue. I mow 90% of the time with my machine and if there was some annoyance, I would complain about it.

I guess we will wait to see how easy it is to attach and detach the BH. My guess is that the Kubota warranty will not hold either. The BX23 attachment and configuration is extremly easy ands intuitive, hopefully Woods copied the Kubota system.

Maybe you don't understand the definition of behoove; its primary literal definition is "a necessary responsibility". You made the statement, "It would behoove all of you..." So, if you are trying to tell all the rest of us what our responsibility is, yeah, I think that is a bit too strong. Each of us is entitled to his or her own opinion. You certianly are entitled to your opinion but frankly, your tone comes across with the implication that your opinion is fact and that if others disagree with you that they are simply wrong.

time to retract the claws... this is only a discussion, not a life threatening situation. Lets not start trying to take the literary definition of every word and apply it to every sentence. If you want to brawl, then go to a bar room and brawl until you are black and blue, and bloodied to boot, but lets not start one here. Look up the definition of civil and see if it applies to this discussion...... I don't think so... /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I just did check "civil". Don't think think anything here really crosses that line, no foul language, no threats, no ultimatums, but yes, some disagreements. After looking back, I still stand by my statements. If someone is telling others what they must do, I think it is o.k. to respond that such a thing seems "a bit strong." If someone is coming across in a way that implies his opinions are right and that others who disagree are wrong, then why not say, "Look, I respect your opinion, but I'd like to be able to have mine respected as well." That's all I'm trying to say. I offer my apology to anyone who feels he deserves it.

Still lookin' forward to hearin' from the first folks who try out the new backhoe. Mahlon-I tried that link you posted but I get a 404 message: "Not Found". Do you know whether Woods took the page back down? Sure would like to read some specs on it. Junkman, I wonder whether a real person censored that web address you posted or whether some automated software took it out. If it was an automated deletion, maybe you could put it in "code" along with decoding instructions, something like "whatever letter you see, actually type the next letter (or numeral) in the alphabet." We could figure it out pretty easily. I sure would like to know what that page said.

Tom....... here is one that does work... http://www.woodsonline.com/turf_grounds/estate/bh6000.asp . I will try to find the link to the other one, but I don't think that I saved it. It was removed manually, because it was there for at least 6 hours that I know of, then it was replaced with a bunch of **** /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif....

Thanks Junkman. Must be my 8 y.o. computer with antiquated O.S. & browser. I think your link may be the same as the one Mahlon posted. On my old Mac, the bar title comes up with the model # for the backhoe, then the page suddenly jumps to a 404 "page not found" message; that's why I wondered whether Woods had a last minute glitch in the bh & took the page back down. My new computer should arrive in a few days so I'll try again.

Hey, let us know if any of those new inventions work out. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Oh yeah, don't you have a self-built backhoe on a BX2200? How well does that work for you?

I guess maybe I should have a Websters by the computer at all times??

What I meant by Behoove, was that it may benifit you all to at least check on a trade value, and it may "suprise" you. Lighten up and relax, there simply was no ill intentions of any kind. If you choose not to exercise all of your options fine.
