Backhoe Woods backhoe for BX 2200

You know, I don't even have a BX 2200 but I'm a bit curious to check out this mystery web page - if only because there has been such an effort to censor it.

It's kind of like seeing a sign that says "Keep off the grass". Sort of makes you want to go jump up and down on it, especially when you had no intention of doing something wrong /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.

My dealer said the Woods truck should be here on Friday with a few BHs. His friend is going to "try one" and told me I could watch if I'm around. I'll let you know if I get to see it in action.

-Might just trade to the B7800. I really like my BX2200 though.

Looks like the new Woods BH is going make a lot of BX owners happy. Now they will not have to take a beating on trying to trade up to a BX23. The new BH has a nice 4 point attachment and a better boom (curved vs, straight), and is compatible with having the MMM attached when the BH is on just like the BX23.

Of course...using the 'hoe with the MMM on the machine isn't the most desirable thing. Vice-versa, too.

Should be interesting to see how BX owners will have to deal with the 3pt which is normally non-removable...in the pictures at the site, it's off the BX.

The 3ph issue on the BXs would be easy for Woods to remedy; all they would have to do for the BX2200 kit is supply a couple of replacement parts for the 3ph shaft, which is solid on the BX2200 but split on the BX22. The off-center split in the BX22 shaft lets you remove the hitch arms relatively easily.

Now, I really don't like the idea of splitting that shaft. Makes it considerably weaker. So, as you say, let's see what Woods comes up with.

regards,

Mahlon

Of course in most cases you are not going to keep the MMM attached. The point was is that the BH mounting system doesn't interfere with the mounting or use of the MMM. There are other BH systems with a subframe mount that eliminates the use of a MMM.

It certainly is on my list of 'must haves' as soon as budget permits. I really like the idea of having an occasional use implement without taking a beating by trading-up. I like my dealer but he is in business to run a business.

I couldn't count the number of times that I have used the backhoe to dig a hole with the MMM attached. If I am doing some serious digging, then I remove the MMM, but if the hole is just to put a bush in, then I leave it on. No sense doing more work than you have to. That is why I bought the BX22, it is because you can dig or mow with everything attached, not that I would do this often, but there have been times that I have done it in a pinch...

Actually dealers do not use a set formula. They look at a machine and good dealers will use their knowledge of the market place as far as what they think they can re-sell the item for based on market conditions, brand, and condition. There is no magic formula..... Why? because a Kubota with 700 hours is different from a Belarus with 700 hours.

The factory backhoe will always be worth more than aftermarket parts, so it would behoove any of you to get some trade-numbers.

As for the seat?? Mine doesn't shut off unless I am mowing with the PTO on, and I get up. Otherwise I can do quite the tractor dance/chinese firedrill to switch between Backhoe, or loader work, or to move the machine. I think I can stand up, swivel the seat and reposition myself to move the tractor in about 3 seconds.
