Tom, just looked at your pic's. I've searched the board for all the Woods BH6000 threads but didn't see these pic's. Thanks for linking. Do you have to take the bucket off every time you remove the BH? I'm not quite getting why you need the castors on the bottom of the stabilizers? Since you already have the frame on a moveable platform, can't you get it aligned before you drop the stabilizers to lift it up?

Woods definitely has some holes in their application information. I had the same problem trying to figure out if I could get a subframe from them to put my BH6000 on my old B2400. After a visit to my dealer, he was able to get ahold of their tech support and find out it used the same subframe as the 7510, 7610, etc. Unfortunately, sometimes you've gotta do a fair amount of homework on your own....... and not just with Woods.

I will say that the BH6000 is a great backhoe. As you suspect, the 'float' on the main boom is a fantastic feature !!

It does take a couple of minutes more to take the bucket off, but I just use some lynch pins that I've reshaped instead of threaded bolts to hold the big pins in place. It's pretty fast that way. I would never tell anyone they need to do it the way I did, but this works for me. I find there is a real learning curve to getting this bh on the tractor and having nothing touching the ground except wheels just makes it so much easier for me to make very small positioning adjustments and align the thing just the way I want it. I can move the end of the boom and I can also not scratch the concrete. Once it's off, but hydro still attached, I put that 2x4 on, unhook hydro, and she rolls easily away.

As far as the subframe and the rep you talked to, it seems like some people just don't get it: courtesy and helpfulness to the customer results in more sales, which results in the likelihood that your job will not go away and that you will be the one holding that job as well. I'd get his name, then ask for his supervisor. Tell the supervisor what you told us then ask whether you can pay them a few bucks to trace a paper template of the sub-frame, roll it up, and mail it to you.

Hope this helps

Tod, thanks for the pic. I would definitely need to buy or make a backhoe and loader dolly so I could move each to a corner of my shed where it would be impossible to mount or dismount them, but it wouldn't work if the stabilizers had to be down. I would guess the BXpanded BH dolly would work for the Woods hoe and if not, I'm sure it would with a little modification. .

I haven't had an opportunity to check out the Woods backhoe but there are at least two guys using our BXpanded dolly with it. I haven't heard that they had to make any mods.

Aside from the backhoe have you ever wanted to upgrade your tractor? If you put a backhoe on and and then try to upgrade it will hurt! When I sold my BX24 the BH "seemed" to affect the price of used tractors only 3k or so. I talked myself out of selling my BX for a while and in that time I added $1000 worth of skid plates, chains, wheel spacers and a brush fork. When I sold the tractor I passed these along but I might as well have thrown them away. I did not need to upgrade from my BX and you wont need to either if you get a BH put on your 1850. I just woke up one day and realized I really wanted a bigger tractor so I got one.

That's a really good point. If you think that you will want a bigger tractor, maybe a B series, in the future, you will do much better to trade up now. If you add the Woods to this BX, then trade, you will lose money. On the other hand, trading to a bigger BX at any point will not gain you much performance at all and you are better off just putting the Woods on the tractor you have.
