Could anyone tell me what type gear oil is best for an older Woods Brush Hog and also for a King Kutter tiller ?
The Owners Manual for my 1976 Woods M5-4 Rotary Cutter says to use #90 transmission oil (also called gear oil).Could anyone tell me what type gear oil is best for an older Woods Brush Hog and also for a King Kutter tiller ?
There are better gear oils now, plus they have a wider viscosity range. 75w-90 would be a good choice. It flows at low temperature a lot like 20w motor oil, but has the shear resistance of a 90wt gear oil.The Owners Manual for my 1976 Woods M5-4 Rotary Cutter says to use #90 transmission oil (also called gear oil).
