I'm sure this has been covered before, but please direct me to a post that covers the pro's and con's, or give me opinions or fact on which is better...

Thanks in Advance (as I await my TC40's arrival... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif )

In general.. the more you pay.. the better the machine.. mowers adhear to that rule of thumb.. though in some cases the margins are closer than others.. that is.. quality can be close and priced with a big difference.

Obviously KK is the economy mower of the ones you listed. Woods is a time tested brand. Caroni is nothing to sneeze at either.

I'd look at what you want to cut, and what you want to spend.. etc.

For light or homeowner use.. sometimes it's hard to justify 2x and 3x the price for a mower that gets used 8 times a year.. etc...

Just to add to what Soundguy has previously stated. The Caroni is a nice mower for the money. In the new Agri Supply Catologue the 6ft side discharge mower is listed at $1,139.95, plus shipping to your local. Not a bad price, IMHO.

Woods now has 2 lines of finish mowers, the RD or for 2006 the prd series, plus the Heritage line . The Heritage line is a good quality cutter at a cheaper price than the RD series.

I sold several brands of mowers. Caroni was the only brand I NEVER had a warranty issue with. The rear discharge model is hard to beat for the price.

Also check out First Choice.
I recently got a First Choice 84" rear discharge mower.
A very nice, well built mower for the $$ in my opinion..

We carrried Caroni for four years...no problems, but you had to remove sheet metal to grease spindles and chain guard cost extra. Now carry Sitrex x 5 years, also no problems, rear discharge, great prices, every grease fitting accessible from the top, rear chain guard standard.

I'm glad you posted. I have a chamce to get Sitrex but was waiting for some input. FYI Caroni has remote grease hoses now.

Caroni HAD extended grease fittings, but they wanted more for them. Sitrex ended up costing less than Caroni with more features (fittings, rear chain, leveling arms). Where are you getting Sitrex? Unless it is close (i.e., no freight) no one beats us on in-stock Sitrex finish mowers with their regular price.
