Hi,
Welcome to TBN.
I have a Woods GTO60 (60" offset tiller) at my dealership. As soon as his schedule and mine coincide, he'll deliver it. Therefore, I can't give you any first hand experience yet. By November I expect to have some experience with it, if you can wait that long. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
From what I could see, Woods tends to be among the higher price implement manufacturers, and their tillers are no different. (Actually, their tillers are made by a company in Italy, possibly Malletti(sp?), but I'm sure someone here can give the specifics on that.) My Kubota dealer is also a Woods dealer and my preference is to send as much of my business his way as I can. I also believe that in most cases you get what you pay for, so I figured I'd spend the extra $$$ and go with the Woods.
That said, there are a good number of members here on TBN that can attest to the quality and performance of cheaper units (some near half the price of the woods!). Depending upon your usage and the availability of a dealer nearby, I would keep other manufacturers in mind as well.
I think I paid $1750 for my GTO60, which I believe is a fair price from what I've seen in my research. The GT60 (without offset) is about $200 less. The 52" is about $100 less.
I opted for the 60" over the 52" 'cause I figured that if my ground was a bit too hard for the 60" width initially, I could just remove the tines from one flange and reduce the working width to about 52". Then, in future years, I'd have the full 60" width. I opted for the offset feature 'cause I figured it might allow me more maneuvering options on my postage stamp property.
Do a search on rototillers and I'm sure you'll find a wealth of opinions and options.
Good Luck,
~Rick
