Woodworking crosscut tools: Feedback needed

A rip cut or "ripping" is any cut or cutting with the grain...does not matter what kind of saw is used...it's mostly about the blades or band blades...
Fair enough... but in context to the discussion above... resawing is generally done with a bandsaw. Ripping (dimensional lumber) generally is done with a circular blade. I think that is where most were going with this. And... we aren't even talking on the subject of cross cutting. :D

What you are showing is "resawing" not "ripping".

The cutting is with the grain. How does that differ from ripping?

What is the difference in the cuts being made??

FWIW
"Ripping dimensional lumber"...if you're referring to the average Joe amateur wood worker you're likely correct...
Commercial mills producing common framing dimensional lumber do not rip out every 2x4, 2x6 etc., etc...one board at a time on a table saw...
Again FWIW...
Anytime you rip a stick of dimensional framing material 1x, 2x etc...you are "re-sawing" the lumber...

All these great saws...but finding decent lumber.

Skillsaw and a 2x4 work well for this. Lots of folks now use tracksaws.

In feed/out feed tables. No long fence needed; just a post opposite the blade works for many people.

With the right blades one can get a pretty clean cut.View attachment 575756

One of these is very easy to make and very accurate plus there's no need to account for any offset, just put the edge on your marks, clamp it down and run your circular saw along it. The fence is one edge of a piece of plywood and so far I have never came across any plywood that wasn't straight as an arrow. Make the bottom piece wider than your saw's offset and then make a cut to give you a reference edge. After that it's easy peasy.

That is a handy jig... especially for remote work. I have built a few different wood jigs for circular saw, router, and a drill.

I use a old steel cast rockwell RAS from the sixten, it have a larger 240V, 2hp motor. Allway’s stay adjust. The table is heavy but it is very stable. Probably scary but I like it.
