Work lights on my Max 22

Well I know a 3 amp wire can support 35 watts. L.e.d. outputs are miniscule in comparison to a halogen so just add up the outputs of all the lights you want. If you are coming from the starter circuit wire wise, you'll have no problem. The 3 amp wire is what Mahindra gives you coming off the back of a 3016. Mine is a 2012 so they may have increased the circuitry capacity in 2013. I am right on 102 further north of you near the old Barney Bennet gas station. Amps = Watts/Volts 55/12= 4.583333 for a 55 watt 12 volt halogen. As you can see, is why I had to get down to a 35 watt halogen bulb for my application.

Thank you for the mathematical confirmation! In the confusion of having a new 3016 in my yard, I couldn't find a formula (I had my HAM radio book right there too!!!!!) to confirm what I could put on that wire by the PTO so I tapped into the tail light. A set of those lights from Dave is on my tractor "short list" second only to a set of skidsteer pallet forks.

I do not know if the MAX 22 is the same as a 3016 (or if it still matters to the OP), but here is my interim solution to a rear light.

Good Morning!

I did buy my max from Dale at Dubay.... my family has been doing business with Dubay for as long as i can remember. There's something super comforting about that. I'd not seen Dale since i was probably 12, but when i spelled my last name.. he quickly spouted off my old home address, and even remembered what 3 tractors we had back then (wheel horses, they dont make little tractors like they used to).

Dale at Dubay is such a top-notch guy. We both served on the Mahindra dealer council together for a time and I have the upmost respect for him. You won't go wrong with that dealer for sure.

Dave, not surprised to hear you say that. He and the rest of the Dubay family has treated us right for years. I have to laugh when he tells me of things he remembered of me when I was young. As a young boy i remember dubay being like a playground whenever I'd go. I even remember dale coming to the house personally to work on one of our wheel horses.... they came and did the repair right in our own garage. Try to find service like that now-a-days.

TBT, i really like the look of your tool rack on the ROPS. I've been poking around with different ideas to rig something like that on mine. Last idea was to rig something where the triangle is on the back.... then mount the triangle to it. Only thing stopping me there is I'm considering modifying my seat bracket to give me a little more room (i'm 6'3").

Mine looks just like your Trask but its a square light. I really should put a switch on it as you have done. Ever figure out where the leaks were coming from? Didn't your 3016 have an "auxiliary wire" coming out the back just below your light so as to not have to tap in the tail light? The wire even had a pin connector attached to it. It was kind of camouflaged with electrical tape. Even when I was told where it was, still took me 2 days to find it.

Ahh yes, up near Highland Gun club. I go up that way from time to time to shoot trap, although my main club is on Sharpe st... so it's pretty infrequent. I grew up just over the hill from Summit General... on the old train tracks. In fact our house was orignally a dry goods store back when the railroad was active. That whole area is a hidden gem in RI. I met a guy way back thru my uncle that lives/lived over near you. He had an old garage right up on 102. I was young, but I clearly remember him showing me a few old mustangs he had hidden in that barn. To this day i still wonder if they're there.

Looking at your math, I'm thinking of going with 18w lights. That would mean for all 4 i'm going to be running to the starter or battery. Not a big deal, but i will say it'd have been nice to have the power to the lights cut when i turned off the key. By the way Shift. We seem to have a rather large Mountain lion in the vicinity just over the line in Moosup. As all of those back woods connect down my way and up yours, he could go anywhere. One of my wife's clients showed her the picture his tree camera took one night. Last time I saw one was in Arizona. Didn't think they've made it up here.

That guy was probably Ray Conner. He has since passed away. No Mustangs in that garage any longer. I remember when Rob from Summit General fell through the tracks at the bridge crossing ( must be 20 years ago) . He shattered his spine and made one of his ankles into powder. He dropped what? 40-50 ft? and lived. This is kind of weird Shift. I've been on this forum for 11 years and talked with people across the world. Here you are 7 miles up the road from me and if you have pets, may go to West Greenwich Animal hospital where my wife works.

Leaks; ah, my baby is still at the dealership (holiday didn't help either), the dealer is seeking corporate help. They have done a couple things as per their warranty instructions, but the hydro-leak continues. I haven't received a report on the coolant leak.

I don't know for sure what they have done so far (a banana or a can of stop leak?), what their next step will be, or what the "end-game" procedures or thresholds are.

They did tell me that the oil and filters are not covered under the warranty unless the oil is contaminated; at 65 hours, I offered to pay for new oil and filters and call my 100 hour service "complete".

I thinking the repair process will continue to follow the "nickle and dime" philosophy (corporate fidelity) more than it will follow the spending the money to get it done asap philosophy (customer sincerity).

If I don't receive a definite technical or logistical position by Friday; I'm afraid I will have lost all faith in this process.

Not bragging or blowing air, but I have been characterized as a "loose cannon" several times in the past.

more to follow....

I remember that! We were pretty close to both families that were affiliated with Summit back then... even went to school with all the sons. I know exactly where he went down, it's an old trestle bridge back near where the old tracks cross Robin Hollow. Shoot, I've whipped over that bridge on dirtbikes and quads more times than i can count. It's quite the drop, not sure if he was lucky or not that he missed the water and hit land. Its been years, but from what i know of it... he recovered rather well.

We do use WG animal hospital. Have ever since the old vet up on cucumber hill road closed years back. They've since re-opened that vet, but we're WG faithful now. ****, before I moved to WG i lived in providence, and we STILL went there. They're the best around... period. Years back we bred Collies and operated a rescue. Needless to say, we were regulars around the vet.

I'll have to agree that it's unusual to bump into a neighbor on a forum this big. I'm relatively active on a few hunting forums as well, closest person I've ever encountered before you is from eastern CT. Weird is right, makes the world seem that much smaller.... as if RI wasnt small enough. I see we share some like interest... maybe some day we can hook up for a coffee/beer and share some war stories.

Spotted this hiding in the "quote" portion of your reply, missed it at first.

I've heard of this lion that's lurking around. No surprise, we do see some serious wild life out that way. I remember back when i was 15-16. Out deer hunting with my dad... evening hunt on an old xmas tree farm near summit. Lawson's farm... know of it? Anyway, i round the corner in the direction of my stand and there sat a lynx... had to be 4ft tall. Stared me down, and in one hop was in the trees and gone. Crossed right over my dad in the trees.... dad thought it was a squirrel. He was never one for paying much attention in the woods, god rest his soul.

I have a small terrier that I trained to bird hunt with me. She's a great pup but would be hors d'oeuvres for a lion like that. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for it. Lately, at night, we have a fisher and a Barred Owl that go back and forth most of the night. At first pretty cool to listen to, but come 3am, i'd shoot either one on sight. (not for real, if any wardens are reading.... well, maybe the fisher)

Just to get back to the forum topic.

Just called in payment for the light brackets on my Max. Big thanks to Dave and Lee down at Dave's Tractor for making the process easy and fast. Cant wait to get some paint on them and install em on my rig. When I do I'll likely create a new forum with pics following my install for those that are interested. Not sure when that will happen, no garage or barn for me... and it's cold out there.
