Work Lights on TC 45

I was needing a little advice. I have a TC45 with a loader. When trying to finish mowing when it is getting dark, my headlights are somewhat blocked by my loader. Does anyone have front and rear facing headlights mounted high on the rollbar or on an open air canopy? I do have alot of low hanging branches that hit my canopy and I believe I would break not so tough lights that were mounted to it. My thoughts go to some kind of "quick connect" halogen lights that I could snap on at dark and leave off when mowing in the trees during the day. I would appreciate any thought or insights into this. I'd suggest putting the lights on the <font color="blue"> inside </font> of your ROPS. Point them slightly down and put them low enough that light doesn't get blocked by the canopy. That way you can mount them semi-permanently and not have to worry about destroying them, even if you do run your canopy into something. ...my suggestion. Good luck.

I can't speak from experience, but I do know that it seems this topic surfaces almost every other week or so. Gary, Check the past posts for lighting. I left detailed instructions for exactly what you are looking for back in the fall. I have a new TC35D and it is quite a process in hooking up the switch. My lights are mounted high up in each corner of my canopy. Good Luck

How did you mount the mirror stalks on the loader frame? Did you drill extra holes, use a clamp or what? How did you wire them in? Are they an addition to the OEM lights or did you disconect the OEM lights? Thanks

The mirror/light stalks are 1" box steel about 3ft long. There are already 2 holes in each of the loader uprights under the safety stickers. I just punched through the stickers, drilled the box steel, and bolted them on. The lights are bolted into holes I drilled and the mirror heads (trailer mirrors - mild wideangled) are directly behind the light heads.

For wiring, I first tried to tap off the headlights, but the load was too much. I changed it so I have a relay (so they only come on when the headlights are on) and pull power from the battery. The switch from Lowes snaps right into one of the blanks on the dash (attached pic). The stalks ground to the tractor, so I only had to run hot wires.

Only complaints: I bought driving lights when I should have bought flood lights & the mirrors don't stick out far enough for my satisfaction.
