I did the same thing, bought 2 benches just like yours, from Grainger's. Now that my wife is moving to a new shop, I am inheriting the 2 benches. Sometimes, plans do work out!!!

here is a well built bench with security system,

Exactly how we set up our work areas/toolcribs at work except we shadow board each tool with a high contrast color .....never have to guess what's missing, where it went ( because we actually have to log them in/ out... PITA!) and it makes things very easy to find and always organized.....it's on my "to do" list.

When the local AGCO plant shut down I ended up with some workbenches from there. My main bench is 5' x 10'. It has 3" square tube legs 6 (ea), and 2x2 tubing around the top. I salvaged some full dimension 2x6 maple, planed and jointed them and have them on the first 5', and the last 5' I put 1/2 steel plate. The maple forms a butcher block top of sorts. The wood was old and very stable. I spent a lot of time make this top dead level and as flat as possible.

The woodworking end I have a wood vise, and on the metal working side it came with an old heavy 8" vise. This bench is a tank. It had electrical outlets every three feet under the top. Best $50 I ever spent (well that was before I bought the 1/2" plate steel.).

Nothing better than a solid workbench. I also use the bench as an assembly station when building my furniture.

I did some searches and decided to resurrect this thread for my latest updated wall/bench project. More of a Storage type bench than actual "Workbench." In previous pages there are a lot of pics of workbenches mine too are in some of these posts.

Anyhow I put up a 3 level wall mounted bench/shelves out of 2x4s & 3/4 Melamine. It is mounted to a 2x6 interior wall with 0/16 plywood, all glued screwed & nailed. It has only 1st coat of primer in last pic but was only a day build.
