Yeah I was worried it might cook something like a gasket. It was just coming from the area of the block heater. Now I just plug it in 1-2 hours before using it just in case.

When I first plug my heater in each time I can hear the heat movement sounds of the fluid. Then later it's quiet. 400 watts is a fair amount of heat output in that small space when you figure there is nothing right in that area to circulate the fluid. But as soon as it transfers the heat to the larger quantity area that heat is dispersed far better.

Of course I don't even use my heating plug unit unless it's at least 20 degrees or colder.
