Mike.
I have a 1948 front distributor ford 8N. Do you know how to get into contact with "The Old Hokie" he makes these jigs to hold the distributor so you can set the points. I have been trying to do the points with out it and no luck. if you know how to reach him it would be much appreciated.

I only use Blue Streak points and condenser. They are a little more but all metal and last longer

Howdy parispete,

I don't know how to get a hold of Hokie. Is your bushing worn or does your points not tighten down? My bushing is worn some so I get a different gap at each lobe, in a perfect world I would fix it right now but I got to get it running first. I'm not a mechanic, I'm more of a demolition man. I have heard its best to remove the front mount distributor to fix it. Mine is a side mount so I left it in since I could get to it. Good luck and have a good day.

v/r

try a hollow ground screwdriver on them jets. the phenolic blocks are much better than the black plastic or hard rubber ones.

Well I did a couple of heat cycles with a propane torch and got the main jet out but not the idle jet. I did borrow a left handed drill bit and easy out from a neighbor. I just have not tried it yet.
