Never been a huge follower of CN rolling stock. Motive power is not pretty (unlike short lines and UP). Least the Rocky Mountaineer is pleasing to the eye, but then that is a passenger only line.

I'm into nice looking motive power, why I like the Florida based FEC (Florida East Coast) rail and especially their Light rail trains running up and down the Florida coast corridor. They run on their owned tracks as well with no interchange with other lines.

With that much steel wheels on steel trackage and frequency, I wonder about track maintainence.

I have been on those trains before, last time it cost about 3cents from Mumbai central to my friends parents house. They are really dirty
I assume that 'housekeeping' is non existent. I hear Indian trains are the same way.. Filthy.

The overnight train from New Delhi down to Varanasi was clean and comfortable.

We had a compartment (bunks, overnight separated from the aisle by a curtain). A couple of times in daylight hours, both directions, other families were seated with us between local cities. Decent people and interesting conversations. A little cozy.

Some 500 miles. 12 hours down. Much longer coming back slow and cautious in overnight dense fog.

But the central terminal in new Delhi where we started was spooky. A week earlier several people had died there in a stampede.

India is endlessly fascinating. I took over a thousand photos while we were there.

This train scene (00:13) is used in many gif memes. I didn't try to trace it.

I wonder how many people get killed falling from moving trains every year in India.

Looks so nice.

I’m not a fan of the graffiti on rr cars but they are stepping up their game. Instead of random graffiti that is nicely done but I can’t read it I’ve seen some that are actually pictures and portraits. I have no idea how long it takes them or how much paint it takes but it has to be a lot.

Wow! That's rare.

I was wondering the other day while sitting at a crossing watching just about every car covered in graffiti how many cans of spray paint and how much time it would take to do an entire car like that?

And that the ‘artist’ may never see it again after the effort.

We had a terrible windstorm Monday the 7th with wind gusts up to 110MPH.

Railroad has a lot of cleanup

Wonder how much enviromental damage they cause with all the spray can chemicals and insurance costs to clean up after them.
Nobody cares. Priorities are elsewhere.

It's a shame they have to paint RR cars, as some of the art is pretty amazing. Some of the artists are truly talented. I saw an entire side of a auto rack car painted a while back, end to end, top to bottom. Don't remember what was on it, but it was very good art.
