On my route to Pikes Peak, I snapped a pretty bad picture of what appears to me to be the single largest grouping of locomotives in the world!
There was probably 100 UP locomotives in one rail yard. We lost count.

I watched a drone flyover video of well over 100 UP diesels (fumbled around 105) parked on a single line out there. I was kinda surprised the guy's battery charge lasted as long as it did, not to mention how far he flew from his base. (I don't azume he had per to walk alongside the track and launch the drone from the middle)

They're in storage.

Apparently, railroads are becoming so efficient they don't need as many locomotives as they used to.

No, they said it's because trains are longer and computerized control of routing is more efficient.
