Working rail roads and their tracks.

I read the news story, the two engineers on the train had minor injuries, that was it.

Yeah, I was hesitant to post the video until I read in the article that the train crew had minor injuries and the truck driver was OK.

Pretty scary stuff. The guy taking the video seemed pretty upset, then saw the railcars heading his direction and YIKES!

I was surprised only 10 cars derailed, and how quickly the rest of the train stopped.

It said the locomotive and 10 cars were destroyed, but a four locomotuves were on the ground and about 10 cars derailed that I could see, but I'm sure there were probably more farther back in the consist. The amount of momentum in all the cars behind the locomotives is unbelievable. The safety cabs used on locomotives are well reinforced and really protect the crews quite well.

Maybe the beam truck should have had pilot vehicles? Make sure they are cleared off the track.

There's a road my wife and i frequent, where a train crossing is close to a traffic light, i'm always surprised at the number of people that will wait on the tracks, for the light to change, and that's with good road marking indication where to stop so the cross arms won't come down on you and get smacked by a train.

I'm pretty sure this is the spot. Collegedale, TN, east of Chattanooga.

Appears to be lots of construction in the area. Truck was heading north across that bridge and RR tracks. Who knows what happened? Probably got stuck in traffic. Beam was so long he probably didn't want it sticking out in that intersection behind him, but should have never crossed the tracks in the first place if there wasn't room on the other side for the entire load to clear the tracks.

All speculation on my part, of course. Yikes.

Looks rather congested, but at least there's something to look at.
Yes to the containers too!
