Worlds most powerful 1210 Ford FWD?

Here is one of my friends tractors which I think has the same engine as yours.
About 30# boost in this video, runs much better than this now. We have run almost 60# boost on a Kubota 3 cylinder but only for 15-20 seconds at a time.

Coming from a guy that loves to modify things, that is freakin' awesome!

What work have you done with it so far? I have been moving alot of dirt the last few days with my 1210 4wd using the box blade and loader. I am scraping dirt off of an embankment and dragging it into a low area that always holds water. With my new ag tires, there have been times that I come close to stalling and have to gear down. It still works great, just slower.

I have also found that when in the right gear, traction is the limiting factor, not power. With your additional horsepower you can probably use a higher gear to do the same work.

That is too cool! One thing I have looked at are the replacement engines from Perkins. They have a bolt in replacement for our 1210's that makes 20 hp. If I ever break something that is the way I will go.

Could you give a little more info on the Perkins replacement. I didn't know anyone made a replacement. Do they make a replacement for any of the other Fords.

Take a look here. I stumbled across this during a google search and I think it may have led back to Tractorbynet. Some guy replaced the engine in his 1210 with a Perkins. All he had to do was drill 2 holes for the extra dowels in the bell housing. Personally, I would've removed the dowels.

If I remember right, he only paid 2500.00 for the whole thing.

To be honest Perkins is owned by Catepillar and the engines are made by the Perkins Shibaura Engine Plant of Japan located in Griffin Georgia, They are the same engine , sold under two different names all owned by one parent company , which is Cat.

and the Perkins version is the 403D-07

I checked out the Cat and perkins links but didn't get the impression these were exact replacements. Do all tractors use a industrial belhousing bolt patern. I also wonder about mounting a hydraulic pump on the front. I'm guessing the factory pump won't work. That would be a lot of money to spend on somthing that MIGHT work. Bill

I went to jtservicesinc.com web site and they say they can get parts for almost any Shibura engine including those used in Ford compact tractors. My engine is running fine. I have ran across several deals on N/H tractors that needed engines. If you could find a replacement engine at a resonable price they were worth fixing but if you had to go through N/H they wern't worth fixing. Thanks fore the info.

Im curious about the use for all the extra power on such a tiny tractor other than a bush hog that you could wind up before getting started .. on the other hand if you do a lot of road running it could be handy I guess. nice work on the install though.
