Worms in water bucket

If you don't find meds, then ripple itself will certainly do. Am I dating myself here, or do they still make that stuff? In my day it was a tenth of a step above MD 2020.....and several steps below sanity.

Trying to remember here, wasn't Ripple that carbonated apple flavored wine from the late 60's? I recall climbing a 4K ft mountain in the White mountains of NH and a bottle of that stuff was supplied by the father of the crew. That mountain might as well have been Everest to a 13 year old and the greedy consumption that comes with the introduction to alcohol. Made it to the top, found a sheltered place and proceded to have the best nap of my life.

edit: Just came to me, What I'm remembering is Boone's Farm Apple wine. Same time frame as Ripple.

I mean who in their right mind would 'pat down a worm' if they were just going to throw it back in the water as bait?
:p

Maybe that is a new form of "CPR" they use in CT:D

I've never seen worms in a water bucket, but remember them on the side walks after a rain when I was a kid. There would be millions of them, yeah I counted!!

I have the answer. Over coffee this morning I asked my wife the question and I was informed... "They wiggle their way up the side of the bucket" ... I says then the fall in and she said "Don't be silly, if they wiggle up they can wiggle down"

I WAS RIGHT! They DO get in through the top of the bucket.:D

My grandson thinks all worms come from a little plastic tub you buy in the sporting goods department at Walmart.

Yep, thats what you said at the get go ... I just asked the wife how do the worms get out of the bucket?

Okay a little imagination here ... picture 5'9" Blonde at a buck twenty five, reading glasses on the end of her nose ... still in her robe.

"Take a pill, who really cares!!" Right back to the medication issue!!!!!

Now for your grandson ... get the shovel G'pa!!!

That reminds me. . . This weekend when we were fishing, my grandson asked me if the fish would bite on grasshoppers. I told him they sure would, and we'd use all the grasshoppers he could catch. Without batting an eye, he said,"Naw, I'll just use stink bait." Few kids these days have any comprehension of what it is to dig worms or catch your own bait. When I was a kid and we were going fishing with minnows, we'd first have to take our seine and go down to the pond to get some minnows.:)

I have a lot of fond memories of catching grasshoppers and digging worms for bait.

Never bought a worm in my life. You go diggin', or, if you're paying attention you head out the night before and get night crawlers.
Was there anything more suited to worms than a tin bandaid box with a lid?
Now I find all I had to do was put out a bucket and they'd crawl right in - through the top.

I'm a coffee can guy. Hey! If a worm can crawl into a water bucket, why don't they crawl out of the coffee can?

Maybe works like a fish trap.

sometimes they do crawl out of the coffee can if you don't keep the lid on..but if they are in dirt and happy, maybe they dont want to leave?

Yep, I've seen that myself...onliest thing, it was the old metal Folger's coffe can; a bit care worn and rusty, not these modern plastic things that wind up in the recycle bin or as a container for dirty paint brushes.
