See here's the thing I could of let it go but I won't.....
Good job finding the problem and taking care of it.
When there is a happy consumer in the end that's all that matters.
I don't mind being proved wrong when a customer is happy in the end.
And guess what this is something that I will be passing on to my techs to make sure we don't over look a problem like this.

I do have a question for you Matt701...Do you park the tractor and set the parking brake?

Good job figuring it out!

Wallace,

It should not, nor should any tractor stall going downhill in high gear. I'm sure you just didn't "see" that was what was happening..
However, I'm nicely impressed you admitted you were mistaken.. So I guess I'm praising you both! :)

It's hard to tell if it was up hill down hill or level ground I was assuming it was level now maybe I missed where it said down hill because if it was down hill then I would have never commented in that manor.

Are you now going to go to the dealer and politely tell him you are sorry you left the brake on? Anyway, sounds like you need to replace your brakes now.....unfortunatedly they are not under warranty. By the way, running in high range all the time is not a good idea. good luck with your tractor and please be safe. BobG in VA

Bob, I did not leave the brake on, the brakes were stuck all the time on and not releasing. I never use the parking brake and of course I checked to make sure it wasn't set. The only time I use the brakes at all is in the winter when I'm on ice and have the blower lifted, the front end likes to slip so I'll push the left or right one to try to stear it which doesn't work on this tractor like it did on my TO35. I did leave a "polite" message on the machine for the owner and mechanic what the problem was this entire time, that I have it moving now like it should and I'll worry about greasing or doing whatever I need to fix it myself so they release. I also said I would be contacting musa about some of the comments he made. Started it this morning frost covered, drove it straight into the garage barely above idling in high gear..just because I could haha. This weekend I have a laundry list I have been making for 2 weeks now to accomplish with it. I think one of the video's I named "downhill" which is starting at the top of my driveway going towards the house.

Bob,
To be honest, I'm not sure what type of brakes it has on it. I know for sure they still have stopping power because of the problems so I just need to figure out why they won't release without a big hammer. I do a lot of firewood processing so I was thinking maybe a branch or something bent one of the brake lever/arms that comes out of the axle area so it's binding and not free moving. It was pretty dark by the time I figured it out last night but I can get a better look tonight when I get home. I'm actually pretty happy knowing I can use it and if I ever accidently hit the brake, I can just release them myself and keep going.

Matt,
I'm glad to hear that you've figured out the problem, with your tractor. The 2615 is equipped with wet disc brakes. I would lubricate all the joints in your brake linkage and that will probably solve your problem. Good luck with it.

Sometimes the problem is with the service manager and not the mechanic. I brought in my pickup with a 'check engine' light. I explained that I had a lot of troubles with squirrels eating the wiring and hoses.
Then I asked to see what he had written down. It was 'tune up' ! I told him that he must be a **** of a mechanic to diagnose my problem without seeing the vehicle. I said that I did not want a tune up, I wanted a repair.
In another case I had my car towed in with a dragging brake. When I got it back ($160 bill) the brake was still dragging. When I questioned the mechanic he said that he was just told to work on the brakes.
I've started writing up my complaint and taping it on the steering wheel for the mechanic.

Yeah, stupid is as stupid does. I always go talk to the mechanic at the ford place, look him in the eye, communicate, etc.

Its my money they are taking,so,they can either let me talk to the man,or I'll go else where,[nobodys told me no yet]
