See the following ebay link - gas can vent caps...I added these to all of my plastic cans and the swearing-per-gallon ratio is way down......best $20 I ever spent.

+1 on the EZ Pour nozzle. I got a pair of them at TSC. One ring fits yellow diesel jugs and the other fits red gas jugs. Poked a hole in the other side and snapped in the vent and away I poured. Best $8 I've ever spent.

I have one of those cans, it is slow but works, I rest the catch on the nozzle on the edge of the tank opening and let the weight of the can push open the spring. Hold it at the right angle and the air gets in fine, too steep and it won't flow at all.
