Front-End Loader Worst things to do to a FEL

/ Worst things to do to a FEL #141
Well, not sure if i totally agree with this one. Ive dug with my loader buckets for 14 years..never had an issue. But my soil is decomposed granite and digs fairly easily. Now if i had more rocky soil then i would agree.
I have been digging with my bucket for over 10 years now on three different tractors, never have had a loader problem. Traction/breakout force maybe, but never a loader problem. I do however use low rpm's and common sense in the approach. Dug out some serious rocks w/o harm to loader/tractor or bucket. I would argue that technique perhaps will allow success before brute force.

I dug the entire top of a large hill off over the period of a month with nothing but the Westendorf TA25 loader on my old Long 2360. Moved all of the dirt about 100 yards to build a large berm for a shooting backstop. On a side note, when I was nearly finished I saw something shining in the sunlight, and got down to get it and it was a Large valve that was chromed. It said Mack on it. I kid you not/... a valve out of a Mack truck. I never found any of the rest of the Mack truck either! I have no idea how that valve got there. Just one of those things.

Are you aware that it is aginst the law to operate machinery while drinking?

That I why I always make sure I come to a complete stop, turn tractor off, take drink, and then resume my business:laughing::laughing:
I just found this thread and can't stop laughing. There are some great comments on there. I too have done most of the things that are posted of what not to do. I am going to have to try out the bucket though for a beer cooler.

Oh, i just remembered. Back in the 1980's while in grad school, we used to have bobcat wars with the skid steers out on the school farm. we would attack each other with the FEL's and try to "flip" the other guy over or high center him. The full cage protected us and it was played in the dirt.

That was back when i was young and foolish (as opposed to old and foolish now days). Poor little tractors.

Funny, I was looking at Kioti's this weekend and they all had built-in cup/beer bottle holders already.

It does, but it is likely my one complaint. It is behind the seat and I forget it is there.

My last water bottle is still in the cupholder (or near it as it falls out behind the seat due to being empty) and has been there for a couple weeks a I keep forgetting it... :D

Other than that, I LOVE my Kioti.:cloud9:

Which one were you looking at?

Be well, David

I'm confused, this isn't making sense at all.

If I'm using the bucket as a bath, where am I supposed to put my beer?

How much PTO HP do you need for this?

I knew a guy from the "gentrified" Ellicott City would ask a question like this...

Anyway, it's a recommended 30 PTO HP...
