Well, the guy raising the price would p**s me off. This jump in price isn't explained by taxes and other fees, is it?
I don't know if I would worry too much about the dealer being close, if you will do your own fluid and filter changes. Either tractor is likely to be pretty hassle free, if they are typical- and not abused by first owners. 620 hours is not a lot, really. You didn't mention rear remotes or other "extras" that are handy to have on either machine, like SSQA loader.

HST is a very handy feature, and most of us, once we've used it, would not want to go back to regular gear drive. Perhaps, since you have a viable option, simply offer the Kioti guy his original price plus maybe $500 for his painting, and if that doesn't fly, tell him thank you, very much, and good-bye. A new blower and warranty sounds good to me. If the mower is also new, that's a plus. A new post hole auger might be had for well under a $1000 CD, I would imagine. Using a post hole auger with a cabbed tractor poses its own challenges, I think.

On the LS the blower is new I do believe.. all the tractors I have looked at come with cabs and all remotes and all the extra jazz.
The Kioti is in good shape.. few minor things.. he wants 32.200$ and I told him delivered and plates better be on.. told him I would call him tomorrow.. might as well make him wait.. I know he will not go lower so not gona bother. I'm pretty sure the Kioti is a bit of a better deal since the 50 hp would sell better down here than a 36hp.. if I get the Kioti I get to keep my boat and decide if I want to sell it or not.. :0).. fun bass boat

I agree that hst would be better and safer for everyone.. lol

Just got a message from someone with a 2011 LS 50 hp for 25k
Waiting for reply on hours, attachments and pics. "Update" just got a reply and it has 1300hrs on it and a bit more rusted to my liking..

What tires are on them? R4s will be way more yard friendly, and I have read they work better in snow.

I do believe so.. yes the Kioti 50 hp just looks like more tractor than the Ls 37 hp. I know the warranty is good to have but for less tractor I don't think it's worth it. Usually built pretty good and minor fixes I can do. Maybe I'm wrong but I think I could sell the Kioti for 35 at the end of winter and wouldn't have much trouble selling. .not so sure with the LS if I could sell without a loss. Not that I'm planning to sell but never know what can happen

For me once the guy raised his price I would have offered him that much less than his original price and proudly walked away! I don't play games and the only time I raise an asking price is when I advertise something as non negotiable and the buyer tries to haggle me down anyway! They usually get the point when I add the exact amount they are trying to subtract right onto my original asking price!

With 8 acres I would be considering a gear machine as long as its mostly open and not cluttered with things to maneuver around. For me based on my property I would be going gear and taking the warranty.

I agree with you but I would be paying 3500$ more for the 37hp ls than I would with the kioti 50hp hst tranny would be 3000$ more on the LS and the Pronovost blower is about 2k more than the new one on the LS. The Ls comes with a mower. the the Kioti comes with auger worth maybe 800-1000$ compared to 2500$ for the mower.

So besides being annoyed at the guy I got to put that aside and figure out what is the best deal for me in the long run..

Another factor might be the "quality" of the machines. I know nothing about LS, but the Kiotis I have looked at seemed very nicely designed and built- Kubota quality, if you will. HST is good to have, unless you spend all your time pulling a plow back and forth. Good luck in settling with what is best for you! Don't forget to post photos- we love photos.

If you are mowing 8 acres I would get a bigger finish mower. The LS has more pto HP than my L3240, and it pulls a 72" finish mower without any trouble. My B7200 which has like 14 pto hp pulls a 60" mower pretty good.

I got a call back from the LS dealer and he was wrong on his list price. He wanted close to 40k for the Ls 3037.. :0) honest 10000$ mistake.. lol.. he will get back to me with something else he said but 15k is a big jump.

So as of now, it looks like the kioti is the winner. I can get the 50hp hst 620hrs for 32200$

Wow! It is almost as if nothing is to be counted on until the deal is closed and the tractor delivered! Even then, they might come back for something more?
