As many of you may have read in another thread here, I've been wanting to make a three point attachment for myself. I fully admit that a lot of this has to do with the process of doing it myself, but I do think it'll be something useful, too.

I think I've come up with an idea (gleaned from the ideas of others smarter than me, of course) that would be very versatile on one single attachment. I wanted to know if you think I might be going overboard here.

I wanted a trailer mover so I started out with some design ideas for on that would move not only tag trailers but a gooseneck as well.

I then added a feature that would allow me to incorporate a removable boom pole. On that I included another feature that would allow me to use a power winch on the boom pole for lifting or pulling (obviously, the limiting factor would be the pole, not the winch). I now believe I have another design modification that would allow me to have a removable/interchangeable middle buster/single row plow.

As I typed this it occured to me it wouldn't take much to include a weight box option, too. As I said, a lot of this is just to see if I can build it and make it work, but I think there are practical applications, too. Am I trying to put too much on the same plate here? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Put a couple of reciever tubes-one at each end stick some2x2 stock
intothem and you also have a pallet mover. You could also
use these for a carry-all etc.

Gary ive got neighbo that owns a shop and we share alot of work he has built and item that is like you decribe, its very handy It has a ball on top one on bottome and the one on the bottom is on a reciver and the top has a seperate reciever boom. Im buiding a reciever mounted tank for the bottom and a folding spray bar for the top.

Let's ee. A couple of receivers, a gooseneck attachment, a boom pole, a couple of pallet forks. That's 6. Stick a hook arm on one side to hang some chains and one on the other side to hold a sprayer hose, and call it the Octopus... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Just be sure that when you are done, it is small enough for the tractor to lift it. Sort of like making sure the boat you build in your basement can get through the door. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Actually, it shouldn't be too bad that way at all. It's not like I'll have everything on it at one time. To be clear on this, the only thing that will remain on with anything else will be the trailer mover. That way it's only going to be trailer mover & boom pole or trailer mover & middle buster, etc., rather than any three or more options together.

One of the advantages, as I see it, is that this will cut down on my implement storage space requirements. With a conventional boom pole, for example, I would probably take up about ten square feet of floorspace storing it. With this I can hang my boom pole on the wall upright. Same with the middle buster.

Besides all that practical stuff, it gives me a chance to try out my design abilities and a chance to build something myself. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
