Would you live near a cellphone tower?

( Hi, A cellphone tower has been built near my house and the tower is 250 ft tall. Would you want live right next to this tower?

Terry )

No, personally I wouldn't. Go out on the net and do some searches, and form your own opinions. There is tons of anecdotal evidence, and little real research (that I am aware of at this point.. not having searched for it.) It's another of those areas where you will find countless opinions, but, not being in the situation, I haven't looked for any solid research. If I had one being build right near me, you can bet I'd be looking for the real research.. and preferably not the research which is funded by the cellular phone companies. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If a guy became too greedy his neighbor might end up with the tower and collect the money while you just get to look at the tower that should have been on your land instead of his.

A cell-phone/microwave tower or even a HV tower wouldn't discourage me from purchasing land. They are pretty common to see these days and more are going up every day around these parts.

I wish they would put a cellphone tower closer to me. The other day I heard someone shouting "can you hear me now". I looked out and saw that guy from the commercial walking past my house:)

If this tower ever falls it will take my house out plus the guy nexted door. This tower has only three legs with no surport wires.

Yeah, Terry, but if it ever falls and takes out your house, I'll bet you'd collect enough to build a new one. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif That is, of course, if you weren't home in the wrong place at the time, then it might be your heirs collecting. You do live in some pretty country, though. I've spent many a night in Cookeville enroute to West Virginia to visit my wife's family. Lots of good places to eat, in my opinion.

I'm going have to build a bomb shelter incase this tower falls during storms. Here is some information about this city I live in.

Well, when we moved to our land there were none. Now, when we look out in the back and up the mountain there is one.
Would've made no difference to us if it was there when we bought. It's all part of this remote controlled, wireless world we live in. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Replying to the bottom...

We've got a couple about 300-400 ft from the house. They sit on the other side of a thicket so we can't see the fence and all that... just towers jutting out of the treeline.

Other than the blinking safety light casting an odd display on the living room floor, I notice no ill effects...
(The first night I saw the lights, I thought E.T. had come to visit)

Wish I collected the rent from em... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
